James Dean and My Hometown

This is an amazingly romantic look at my hometown of Fairmount, Indiana and its most famous son, James Dean.

I will always love the fact that I grew up in Fairmount. And who knows, maybe I’ll move back there sometime…

Via: Hulu – The James Dean Story – Watch the full feature film now..

My freshman year of college I bought every single John Mellencamp album.

My friend Charity posted a Morrisey video (“Suedehead”) on Facebook recently which features Fairmount. Embedding for that video has been disabled, but you can catch it right hurr.

The Rebel Jesus

A few songs expressing unconventional thoughts about Jesus on Christmas…

“If any one of us should interfere in the business of why there are poor, they’d get the same as the rebel Jesus.”

“Did the little girls giggle when you walked past?” “Did you wrestle with the dog and lick his nose?”

“Well this song was written in New York City by a rich man, a preacher, and a slave. Well, If Jesus was to preach what he preached in Galilee, they would lay Jesus Christ in his grave.”

“Jesus was an only son as he walked up Calvary Hill.”

“So come lose your life for a carpenter’s son, for a madman who died for a dream”
